As 2021 comes to a close, all of us at Nuwellis are pausing to reflect on the year we’re leaving behind. This year was a year of major milestones for us – a new name, new CEO and new focus areas, just to name a few. This year also had its share of challenges. As the COVID-19 pandemic continued on, many experienced hardships and lives were forever changed in ways both large and small.
In difficult times, it’s important to pause and reflect on the positive changes happening throughout the world. Throughout the pandemic, we’ve been inspired by the generosity and kindness shown by our communities to uplift those who are struggling. Nuwellis is proud to have supported a variety of organizations throughout the past year. Children’s Minnesota
Children’s Minnesota is an independent, not-for-profit health care system, providing pediatric emergency, primary, and specialty care to children from before birth through young adulthood. This year, the Nuwellis team participated in and raised donations for the Walk for Amazing – Children’s Minnesota’s annual fundraiser. Harboring Hearts
Harboring Hearts provides emergency housing, transportation, food, and emotional support programming to heart transplant, liver transplant, and cardiothoracic surgery patients and their caregivers. This year, Nuwellis was a sponsor of the Harboring Hearts yearly fundraising event, with Kelsey Newell, CCRN and Nuwellis Clinical Education Implementation Manager, representing our team. Stanford Children’s Health | Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital
Stanford Children’s Health is the only health care system in the San Francisco Bay Area exclusively dedicated to pediatric and obstetric care. Its physicians and health care teams offer comprehensive clinical services, from treatments for rare and complex conditions to well-child care at more than 65 locations. American Heart Association
The American Heart Association (AHA) is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. This year, Nuwellis participated in and raised funds for the Twin Cities Heart Walk, supporting funding for research of the cardiovascular implications of COVID-19.
